The Atlantic County Council of Education is proud to announce that Teresa Calvi, a Paraprofessional at Mainland Regional High School, is our county ESP of the Year. Teresa was chosen because of her involvement in the union and her professional achievements.
Some of her union involvement includes representing the Paraprofessionals in her local by advocating for them, being on the negotiations team and recruiting new hires to become members and get involved. She has attended many union events at the local and county levels.
Teresa goes over and above her job description. One of her duties is running the school store. She has a degree in business and has used her knowledge to take it to a new level. She includes the students in every aspect of running the store to the point that it is truly student run and operated. Teresa shows the students compassion, responsibility, and respect. The students learn those character traits along with much needed marketable skills and will truly leave school ready to join the workforce because of the patience and dedication of this wonderful Paraprofessional.
Congratulations and thank you Teresa for all that you do to serve your union and your students.
